PERFORMING YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
What makes you curious? What makes you angry, what can‘t you let out? In our collective performance lab we will meet one time a week to answer these questions with creative methods. The baker at the corner, the gang of the s-bahn station, the old lady of the newspaper kiosk- all these people who are not only your neighbours, but alos your teammates. The grafiti on your housewall, the barbed wire fence on the dyke, the abandoned warehouses at the port- all these places are not only your neighbourhood, they are also your stage. We know, that you have lots more to say and to show then there are oportunities to do so- that‘s why Transcorner offers you a space to express yourself!
So let us explore techniques and ideas to make our environment more lively. And what lively means to us is that: open to crazy encounters with people with different ways of looking at things. With playfull exercises we will lern how to developp choreographies, which will allow us to dance the urban space; we will work on scenes, which will touch passers-by who maybe don‘t usually go to the theatre; we will create living sculptures, which will change our streets in a place to get more curious about.
We will work on these topics:
- how to „corner“ artistically together: Performance-Flashmobs in the public space
- meet and discover togheter: knocking at our neighbours, to get to know hidden stories
- Directing and acting: discover and create your own stories about the neighbourhood and stage them as you wish
- Dance: warm up techniques from contact impro, creative dance, physical theatre, animal work and butoh.
- Performance: your own body as a piece of art.
